Suspect Arrested Following Assault on Deputy, Foot Pursuit
A man accused of attacking a Caddo Parish sheriff's deputy and fleeing from law enforcement was arrested on Tuesday after deputies discovered him hiding in the attic of a building, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.
On August 23, 2026, Deputy Hayes responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a church located in the 3100 block of Seminole Drive. During the investigation, the driver, Michael Hunt, cooperated with the deputy. However, the passenger provided a false name, resisted Deputy Hayes, assaulted him, and then fled the scene.
Detective Douglas carried out a follow-up investigation and identified the passenger as 18-year-old Albert Dolley.
On September 1, Detective Douglas attempted to contact Dolley at his residence in the 3100 block of Hiawatha. Dolley fled on foot into a nearby wooded area, prompting a search that involved multiple deputies.
During the search, investigators learned that Dolley had entered a residence in the 4400 block of Tacoma, where the homeowner found him hiding in her garage. Dolley managed to escape again and was later located hiding in the attic of another building in the same area.
He was taken into custody without further incident and trans ported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on three counts of Resisting an Officer, Battery of a Police Officer, and two counts of Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling.
The investigation is ongoing.
