Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office detectives have charged a Shreveport man in connection with multiple burglaries at a local business, according to Sheriff Henry Whiterhorn Sr.

On May 28, 2026, deputies responded to a reported burglary at HighLifter Products, located off Atkinson Drive. During this incident, the business and multiple campers on the property were burglarized, leading to a reported loss exceeding $2,800.

This marked the second burglary reported at the business within the past month. Investigators obtained surveillance video from the most recent incident, which was instrumental in identifying the suspect.

During the investigation, Detective Lucky reviewed the video evidence and gathered additional information that led to the identification of Benjamin Ashcraft, 34, as the suspect.

On May 30, 2026, detectives secured an arrest warrant charging Ashcraft with three counts of burglary. Investigators later discovered that Ashcraft was already incarcerated at the Caddo Correctional Center on unrelated charges. Consequently, the burglary charges were added to his existing charges.

The investigation into the recent burglary at HighLifter Products is still ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office at 318-675-2170 or Caddo/Shreveport Crimestoppers at 318-673-7373.

***Update***

:
On May 30, Benjamin Ashcraft was arrested on burglary charges stemming from an incident on May 28 at Highlifter, located on Atkinson Drive.

Detective Purgerson had been investigating a burglary at the same location that took place on May 22. During that burglary, an employee observed the suspect fleeing the property on foot. Tools, tires, rims, and merchandise were reported missing.

Based on evidence from both the May 22 and May 28 burglaries, Benjamin Ashcraft was identified as the suspect.

On June 3, Detective Purgerson obtained a warrant for Ashcraft, charging him with two counts of burglary. At that time, Ashcraft was still being held at Caddo Correctional Center for the previous burglary charges.
